Milestone 1: 2D Surface Design Study - Part 1

Image
Milestone 1: 2D Surface Design Study - Part 1 The first Milestone project in Object Design with Bryan Cera is learning more about 2D surface study. The first research to be done is to go out into the world (or our own homes) to find 10 or more different patterns, and designs.. Here are my photos:  - Keyboard rest, Weaved plant pot, Heat pack, Pillow case, Pocky wrapper, Wallpaper, Clothing pattern from a skirt and a dress, and three washi tapes.   When I started doing my drawings I first started sketching the designs and patterns I found interesting from the photos and then I attempted to brainstorm to create my own designs.  I'm really into the more nature-like and more flowing designs.

Make These Shapes - Learning Rhino

Learning Rhino ceros  3D  Assignment 2 - Make These Shapes After playing around with Rhino and creating a 3D model of a castle, we are now taking a step back and learning other Tools and Commands with 2D shapes.  Some of the Commands we learned were: Trim, Rotate, Polygon (Star), Arc (Tangent), Explode, Fillet (FilletCrv), Array Practice Screen Shot During Class Our next assignment was to "Make These Shapes" from a photo document provided by Bryan. The shapes were quite easy for me to follow and create until I fell upon on the 5th row of Circles and Offsets. Now, I do know what I have to do to make that flower like shape, and making an OFFSET copy of it. Although for some reason it wasn't offsetting the whole flower. I attempted to troubleshoot by using the JOIN command to attach all the lines together, but for some reason I couldn't figure out why it was not working.  I decided to start over and make that shape all over again, and to my luck, it finally...

3D Castle - Learning Rhino

Learning Rhino ceros 3D  Assignment 1 - 3D Castle The first few steps learning about 3D modelling in Byran Cera's class was quite over whelming for being new to this program. We were taught many different tools from rotating and dragging the screen (view), making basic 2D shapes and extruding them to become 3D. (Screenshot from Day 1 of practicing) We first learnt about Shift+Click to select Ctrl+Click to deselect. Then we learnt about the tools GridSnap and Gumball. We then made different shapes using various different tools and learned how to extrude them (turn them into 3D) and make them a solid shape. Using these tools I attempted to create a castle for the first time. Here are my results: Front View Side View                                                    Side View  Back View       Detail/Close ...
