PARAMETRIC VESSEL/STRUCTURE

Image
PARAMETRIC VESSEL/STRUCTURE Oh boy, Getting real with the 3D! Not gonna lie the lecture felt deadly, my brain as soon as class was over was just gone. GONE. This class is a lot of fun but it takes a lot of brain power to fully understand how each component works and what they do. Sometimes I get lost in the definition and I have no idea what I've been doing and what does what. But that's okay cause eventually I figure things out! Here Is the start of my 3D shape: I didn't want to make the generic "Circle" like we did in the demo for class so I tried experimenting with POLYGON. I had no idea why the sizes were so drastic, then I realized it was probably the number sliders I had on my "CDM" construct making the radius of the different shapes very far from each other.  So once again I tried all the way from the beginning again, this time looking at the our demo creations from class as a guidance.  Am I doing something wrong with domain? range? I have no i...

MILESTONE 1: LASER CUT TILE

Image
MILESTONE 1: LASER CUT TILE Laser cut tiles. LASER CUT TILES! Finally I will be able to see my digital creations from Rhino (Or Grasshopper) This is really exciting since last semester we didn't get a chance to use the 3D printer or print through Shapeways. I really hope this goes well! I forgot to take screenshots of my process although I seemed to not have a lot of issues when making it. At first I struggles with the "Boolean Toggle" where it was not doing anything at all, after playing around with it it somehow worked. Iteration 1: Iteration 2: Iteration 3: (first one created) This is an extra iteration since I wasn't sure if I was gonna use the first one I made, honestly there were endless of beautiful designs that can be generator. You gotta stop some where though, or you'll be there forever. :) I wanted to show the initial shape that created the integrations, so here are the screenshots :  My third iteration (Which I numbered my third but it was the first ...

Animation

Animation | Animating Parametric Lines Oh boy, next step.. ANIMATION! This is suuuper exciting and super cool! I've always admired animation but have always been intimidated to try it, but thanks to this "animate" tool this will be a lot more simple.  I wanted to first use the parametric line I created from the last assignment, although I knew I had to change the definition since we learned how to use rotate properly in the last class.  This was the definition for the first one : for some reason I added multiple rotates, it did what I wanted but there was a better way And now here is the new definition : This did NOT work out for me, I don't know what I was doing and for some reason when moving the number slider my curves were not doing the things I wanted them too.  In that case, I decided to take a step back and re-make a new definition from the same shape, then I ended up with this... Okay, I have no idea if this is right or not.. it seems too simple, Is simple ...
