Milestone 1: 2D Surface Design Study - Part 2

 Milestone 1: 2D Surface Design Study - Part 2

Part 2 and the final part of the Milestone 1 project on 2D surface design. After looking at multiple patterns and decorations from objects in my everyday life, I sketched out some of my favourite parts that I enjoyed from the designs. I didn't have any initial ideas or composition in mind because I thought it would be easier to plan out the patterns though the Rhino program with the assistance of Copy, Mirror, ArrayCrv, Trim, Hatch and many more.

After getting some feedback from a peer, I have decided to play around with my favourite shapes by using Mirror and ArrayCrv. (I forgot to take screenshots on my progression towards the final designs so I only have a screenshot of my experimentation process and the final design before "Hatch"-ing it.

I really enjoyed the idea of a more nature-like and flowy design, I tried creating a repeated pattern, which actually almost reminds me of a tapestry. There definitely was a lot of trials and error when creating this and it took a bit of time figuring out the layers but eventually I managed to get used to it.

I genuinely had fun learning and working on this 2D surface design, here are my final results :
