Reverse Engineered Object : Progress 3
No exploded view. No renderings. This is kind of upsetting to me. I genuinely wanted to complete my pencil this week but I sure did struggle. This is okay because I will be taking this opportunity for me to further practice and learn what I can do better, I can fix certain parts I may not be happy with and I can adjust measurements if needed.
This was probably a more complicated week for me working on my pencil. For some reason a lot of my parts were very finicky since they were small and difficult to maneuver around. I had troubles figuring out how to complete my screw on the bottom part of the pencil. but after many and many spirals, MANY and Many sweeps I was finally able to get the right shape and size of the spiral screw.
The part I spent a lot of time on and will continue to be spending a lot of time on, is the textured part on the grip of the pencil. This part has extremely small diamond shaped bumps and this makes it really difficult to figure out the measurements and amount of diamonds. There were a lot of trial and error in ArrayCrv -ing these diamonds around a circular curve and I thought this was it, I finally got it. NO. I was completely wrong, for some reason only the top side of the pattern aligned properly, the bottom half somehow didn't. Back to square one. (Thank goodness for the extension, Thank you Bryan)
I have several parts that I still need to complete along side the textured grip. Metal component that holds the eraser, and the letters and numbers that indicate the type of lead being used in the pencil.
Here are some images of the components I still need to complete and a screenshot of my messy work station with multiples of the same shape just incase I make a mistake that I can't fix.:
Here are photos of the almost completed products in Shaded and Rendered mode:
You've done so much work on this and it shows. This is a very challenging assignment and I think you are doing really great!
