MILESTONE PROJECT: ALGORITHMIC PANELED STRUCTURE - Part 2

Algorithmic Paneled Structure - Part 2

I wasn't actually sure if I was supposed to make a blog post this week but I might as well show my choices and progression for this Milestone project.

I wasn't exactly sure if I wanted to create another design or stick to the one I already had. Or I was even thinking about printing my furniture design as a miniature version. (It would be so cute to have a tiny chair!)  But first things first, testing the wall thickness to see if they are reasonable to print.

I fixed up my algorithmic paneled structure to now have 1 definition instead of 7.

I had a problem with installing MeshMixer so I had to default to Shapeways to check if my design is good enough to be 3D printed.

I made a new geometry to be tiled onto my surface. I wanted to see if I can create a more intricate design instead of a simple Dimond grid.

I really enjoyed the design when there were many tiled around my surface, although I knew this wouldn't work out because my object is very small and the printer wouldn't be able to get the details I want.

No choice but to reduce it :

After placing this object on ShapeWays I was quite disappointed. I don't think this one is gonna work out, there are waaaay too many error spots, too thin.

I have decided that I will be handing in 2 of my designs. I'm not 100% sure that my "vase" would be okay, and if its not then I hope my furniture chair would be okay.
