Okay, the parametric vessel assignment was really fun in the way we can see many different variations from the   




I was thinking this looks too much like a wheel chair, or some modern rocking chair and that's what I didn't want.. SOOO lets try something else. ( plus I extruded this on rhino not on grasshopper just for my own reference if I liked the shape..)

My next thoughts and idea was a making a chair that kind of has a similar shape to a bean bag, round and plump, but it would still be made out of solid material and for fun, shaped like a cat!


I don't know where I'm going with this.... I think I'm a mess hahaha


I made a cat with a head band!


okay.. okay.. let's back track and try this again... If you can't understand the basics how are you gonna understand the more complicated...
This time I started with a sphere. I found this video on YouTube that shows basically what I was looking for of a parametric chair so this helped a lot into getting the general shape. Although, I'm not sure whether there's a way to manipulate the sphere in Grasshopper instead of Rhino.

At least I was able to learn CageEdit, was a pretty interesting tool and definitely was useful.

I. struggled. so. hard. I apologize that I don't have a lot of screen shots during my progress, this was really stressful. I had no idea how to get the points onto my surface, I had no idea how to get Voronoi on my geometric shape. It was so difficult... But thank you internet, I found a tutorial on how to make a Voronoi surface on a 3d shape and PHEWW! I finally got it!

It wouldn't bake... And I had no idea what this meant


I feel like it had something to do with the centered part of the top and bottom shape, buuut I'm not sure if that's actually the case. or if it was the factor Z


I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! Wow finally! took me ALL day to figure this out and I finally got it!!!
Special thanks to my S/O and my friend for helping me out and figuring out where the problem was. 
I was right that it had something to do with the way the Voronoi wrapped around my shape. 

THE SOLUTION:  

DOMAIN

Once again domain is after me again. I needed to put a domain on V Domain so that I can change where the start and end are.

AND BLESS I DID IT!







HERE ARE THE FINAL RENDERED VIEW IN DIFFERENT MATERAILS (METAL,GLASS)

 Reverse Engineered Object : Progress 1 The Object that I have chosen to reverse engineer from my three options, Is my Muji balance mechanical pencil. I chose this object because even if it seems quite simple, there are still a lot of different intricate parts and textures areas.   Outsourced Wearable Object: Concept Selection and Proof Sheet After wonderful conversations with my peers and Bryan, I have finally concluded to the THREE ring concepts I enjoy the most.   A Bonsai, a Snake and a Flower ring.  Honestly this was pretty hard. I had a lot of troubles on different parts for each ring. Although I tried not to stress about it since i knew this was also a rough draft. Here are some ScreenShots of my work : (I always forget to take shots of my process) The snake seems like a simple enough concept but I've been having troubles with the shape after i SWEEP it. Not only that I haven't been able to fully complete the reptile scale texture since I've been having troubles with the FLowAlongSrf I had to learn how to make a Petal of a flower by using InterpretCRV, and learning how to use the REBUILD tool.  I haven't completed the Bonsai tree yet, I finally got a decent shape to the trunk and i'm still planning to manipulate it with Twist and ...
